Vaccines: Practical Issues for a Global Society

The goal of this Spring Semester 2009 course is to introduce University of Wisconsin-Madison undergraduate and graduate students to vaccinology. In keeping with the Wisconsin Idea, course lectures (audio and slides) will be made available here on the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene web site for the public.

Topics to be addressed include:
  • Immunology of Vaccination
  • Vaccine Development and Application of New Technologies
  • Role of Immunization in Public Health Programs for Infectious Disease Prevention
  • Economics of Vaccines
  • Political, Legal and Ethical Issues Relating to Immunization
  • Impact of Immunization in Animal Populations
