Karyotype showing a deletion in the short arm of chromosome 17. Only part of the band is missing, so the beginning and ending breakpoints for the deletion are both p11.2. A deletion of this particular band is diagnostic of Smith Magenis Syndrome.98-273 karyo del(17)(p11.2p11.2)
