Patient Background

This was a peripheral blood sample taken from a 22 year old man affected with Fragile X syndrome. This man has a history of this syndrome in his immediate family. Our fragile X method of culturing was used to establish the presence of fragile sites on chromosomes, especially at Xq27 which indicates the likelihood of the syndrome.
