The School of Cytotechnology is located within the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. A part of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Center for Health Sciences, the School of Cytotechnology offers excellent training facilities for the special techniques required to screen slides and accurately detect cancer.

The clinical setting at the WSLH provides students with exposure to an operating cytology laboratory and an experienced teaching staff, which includes registered cytotechnologists, laboratory technicians and clerical staff directed by pathologists with training and special interests in cytology.

The 12 month training program begins each year in the middle of August. Enrollment is limited to no more than 12 students.
