Bacterial Testing - Andersen/AGI-30 air samples - Culture; enumeration and presumptive identification based on colony morphology and gram stain reaction. Tryptic soy agar is used for environmental bacteria. Blood agar is used for pathogenic bacteria. Phosphate buffered saline used for collection of AGI-30 samples. Identification to genus and species available at an additional cost. Media supplied for sample collection.
- Bulk solids, liquids, wipes and contact plates - Culture; enumeration and presumptive identification based on colony morphology and gram stain reaction. Tryptic soy agar used for environmental bacteria. Blood agar used for pathogenic bacteria. Identification to genus and species available at an additional cost. Cutting oils will also be cultured for Mycobacterium on Middlebrook agar.
- Thermophilic actinomycetes from bulk solids, liquids and wipes - Culture, enumeration, and identification to species level. Tryptic soy agar used.
- Total coliform and Escherichia coli - Culture and enumeration of total coliform bacteria and Escherichia coli by membrane filtration. Culture performed on bulk solids, liquids, and wipes.
- Legionella culture - Culture, enumeration and identification by the CDC method, with and without acid treatment. BCYE agar with and without antibiotics is used. Legionella kits consisting of a 125 ml bottle containing soldium thiosulfate and sterile swabs are provided.
Bacteria Identification - Identification of bacteria from environmental sources using conventional CDC methods or Biolog.
Endotoxin Screening - Screening performed on Endotoxin-free polycarbonate filters, liquid and bulk solids by kinetic chromogenic Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) methodology.
