SARS-CoV-2, Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses Update – 2020

Description of Session:

This webinar will provide a review of the past 2019 – 2020 respiratory virus season and will highlight our surveillance strategies and challenges for 2020-2021, based on our expectations, for the upcoming respiratory virus season in light of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

Additional topics that will be discussed include a review of the differences/ similarities between the 2009 H1N1 pandemic and the current COVID-19 pandemic,  updates on seasonal influenza, SARS-CoV-2 updates and new technologies including the roll out plans for influenza & SARS-CoV-2 multiplex PCR testing for surveillance and outbreak response. Additionally, updates on the influenza vaccine strain components will be discussed.

A certificate of participation will be granted to each participant based on 1.0 contact hours of instruction toward credit.
