Dr. Mei Baker Certified as Biochemical Geneticist

MADISON, Wis. – Mei Baker, M.D., FACMG, passed her Biochemical Genetics board exams from the American Board of Medical Genetics and is now a board-certified Biochemical Geneticist.
Dr. Baker is co-director of the WSLH Biochemical Genetics Laboratory, scientific advisor to the WSLH Newborn Screening Laboratory and an assistant professor of pediatrics in the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Her research, in collaboration with the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and the Jeffrey Modell Foundation, led to Wisconsin being the first state to screen all newborn babies for Severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID) beginning in January 2008.
