Rotating Equipment Repair Receives SHARP Award Renewal From OSHA and WSLH

Sussex, Wis. -- WisCon staff recently honored Rotating Equipment Repair, Inc. (RER) for maintaining its SHARP safety and health status. Representatives from the company received a plaque recognizing the renewal of its SHARP status. The renewal lasts three years.

The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) honors small and medium employers that operate exemplary safety and health management systems, while also maintaining an injury and illness rate below the national average for their industry. The award is given by the WSLH WisCon Occupational Safety and Health Consultation Program and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

RER received its initial SHARP award in 2009 and this is the company's first renewal. RER's 48 employees rebuild and service pumps for power plants and other customers nationwide.

To be eligible for SHARP renewal, the company was re-inspected by WisCon health and safety consultants to ensure it had maintained a full and effective safety and health management system and continued to have injury and illness rates below industry averages.
