Raca Named WSLH Cytogenetics Section Director

Dr. Gordana Raca | MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene is pleased to announce the appointment of Gordana Raca, MD, PhD, FACMG, as Cytogenetics Section Director.
Dr. Raca is board-certified in Molecular, General, and Clinical Cytogenetics. She joined the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene in 2006 as Assistant Director of the Cytogenetics Section and Assistant Professor in the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health-Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
She received her MD degree from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia, and her PhD from the University of Illinois in Chicago. She completed postdoctoral training in Molecular Diagnostics at the University of Chicago (Chicago, IL), and a fellowship in Clinical Cytogenetics at Emory University (Atlanta, GA).
The Cytogenetics Section is a component of the WSLH Disease Prevention Division led by WSLH Medical Director Daniel Kurtycz, MD, who is also a professor in the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health-Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
