Webcast: Watch What You Eat! Foodborne Outbreaks --Response and Technology

 

MADISON – E. coli in spinach and hamburgers! Salmonella in pot pies, peanut butter and peppers! Campylobacter in cheese curds! Is anything safe to eat?

In this webcast Dr. Dave Warshauer, Chief Bacteriologist and Deputy Director of the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene's (WSLH) Communicable Disease Division, discusses foodborne outbreak response in Wisconsin and nationally, including the technology used to find the "DNA fingerprints" of these bacterial culprits.

The WSLH is a two-time winner of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's PulseStar award for exceptional contributions to foodborne disease surveillance and outbreak response.
