WSLH Discontinues Syphilis DFA Testing (Test #23)

MADISON, Wis. – Effective immediately Syphilis direct fluorescent antibody (DFA) Testing (Test Code 23) for the microscopic detection of Treponema pallidum from lesion smears will no longer be performed at the WSLH. Unfortunately, reagents previously provided by CDC for this test are no longer available.

We appreciate your utilization of the WSLH as a primary and referral testing laboratory for all other tests and procedures and sincerely hope that this will not inconvenience you or your patients.

We would suggest contacting other large reference laboratories for this testing. If you have additional questions please contact our Serology Laboratory at 608-262-0248.
