Presentation on the WSLH occupational safety and health surveillance initiative and how it involves the ongoing systematic collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of available data on workplace injuries and illnesses. Since August, 2007, WSLH has been working to add value to the Wisconsin Workers Compensation (WC) data through a variety of management, analysis and presentation method, guided by an MOU with the Department of Workforce Development DWD. The intent is to make these data useful and available to occupational safety and health partners for evaluation, program development and research purposes.

Industrial Hygiene Consultant-Engineer George Gruetzmacher, PhD, CIH, PE, reviews the basics of nanotechnology, outlines issues regarding human health hazards, lists current uses of nanomaterials, identifies potential occupational controls and lists current research issues regarding health exposure. Gruetzmacher works in the WisCon on-site occupational safety and health consultation program at the WSLH.
