Description

Standard activated charcoal
Activated Charcoal
(Standard)

Tube:
The standard tube has 2 sections containing 100 and 50 milligrams of charcoal respectively, separated by a foam plug.

Use: Sampling solvent vapors. This tube is used with low flow pumps. The 100 milligram, or longer portion of the tube, should be used at the sampling end, with the 50 milligram, or shorter portion, used as an indicator of sample break through.

Large activated charcoal
Activated Charcoal
(Large)

Tube:
The large activated charcoal tubes have two sections of charcoal containing 400 and 200 milligrams, respectively.

Use:
Sampling solvent vapors. The longer front portion of the tube is used for sampling, and the shorter portion of the tube is used for backup.

Large and small silica gel tubes
Silica Gel
(Large and small)

Tube:
Silica gel tubes come in a variety of sizes.

Use:
Collection of some alcohols.

Mercury (200 milligram)
Mercury
(200 milligram)

Tube:
Contains carulite.

Use:
Collection of inorganic mercury vapor.

Aldehyde
Aldehyde

Tube:
HMP coated XAD-2

Use:
Collection of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde and acrolein. It may also be used for phosgene.

Acid mist
Acid Mist

Tube:
Pre-washed silica gel

Use:
Collection of mineral acids and some organic acids.

Warning: Never use regular silica gel for acid mist sampling.

Thermal desorption
Thermal Desorbtion

Tube:
Mixed-bed solid sorbent

Use:
Used for the collection of a wide variety of volatile organic solvents at Parts per Billion levels for indoor air studies.

Note: They are sent out from the lab just before sampling as they must be cleaned just before use.
