SUMMARY:WCLN Webinar – A Global Perspective on HPV Infection and Cervical Cancer
DESCRIPTION:A Global Perspective on HPV Infection and Cervical Cancer\nPresenter: \n\nAllen Bateman\, PhD\, D(ABMM)\, is an Assistant Director of the Communicable Disease Division at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene.\n\nDescription of Session: \nThis webinar will build on a previous webinar (“The Biology of HPV Infection and Cervical Cancer”) to expand the discussion of HPV and cervical cancer to encompass a global perspective. Broad epidemiological patterns (historic and geographic) will be discussed\, followed by a deeper dive into HPV in the face of HIV infection. Multiple applied research studies in Zambia will be discussed\, including population-based cervical cancer screening studies and a laboratory-based study to determine HPV genotypes in cervical cancer specimens which led to a renewed effort to implement an HPV vaccine in Zambia. \n  \nA certificate of participation will be granted to each participant based on 1.0 contact hours of instruction toward credit. \nThis program is co-sponsored by ASCLS-WI which is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. program. \nAs part of the new P.A.C.E. continuing education process\, please go to the ASCLS CE Organizer web site to print your P.A.C.E. certificates. You will be asked for a code number to print the certificate. We will provide you this number during the webinar. \nPlease note that the deadline for receiving P.A.C.E. education credit for this webinar is April 17th\, 2020. \n \nMaterials:\n\n A Global Perspective on HPV Infection and Cervical Cancer – Presentation\n A Global Perspective on HPV Infection and Cervical Cancer – Handouts\nWCLN Webinar – A Global Perspective on HPV Infection and Cervical Cancer
