DESCRIPTION:Practical Overview of CLSI M35-A2 Document for Same-day Identification of Bacteria and Yeast\n  \nPresenter: \n\nErik Munson\, PhD\, D(ABMM)\, WCLN Laboratory Technical Advisory Group Member\n\nDescription of Session: \nThis live webinar seeks to accomplish two goals:  1) provide foundational training in entry-level clinical microbiology laboratory skills; and\, 2) translate these skills into guidance relative to the identification of several medically-significant pathogens frequently encountered in the clinical microbiology laboratory\, per literature published by Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI).  Basis for the presentation will be the CLSI M35-A2 document “Abbreviated Identification of Bacteria and Yeast”.  A multimedia format seeks to demonstrate colony morphology (including hemolysis)\, cell morphology\, and bench-level rapid testing and observations for a number of these pathogens. \n  \nA certificate of participation will be granted to each participant based on 1.0 contact hours of instruction toward credit. \nThis program is sponsored by the WSLH\, which is an approved provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. program. \nAs part of the new P.A.C.E. continuing education process\, please go to the ASCLS CE Organizer web site to print your P.A.C.E. certificates. You will search for the Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene programs under the “Other P.A.C.E. Programs” tab on the ASCLS CE Organizer web site. You will be asked for a code number to print the certificate.
