SUMMARY:WCLN Audio Conference: The Changing Landscape of Stool Parasite Diagnosis and Surveillance
DESCRIPTION:The Changing Landscape of Stool Parasite Diagnosis and Surveillance\nPresenters: \n\nTimothy Monson\, M.S.\, Communicable Disease Division Supervisor\, Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene\, Madison\, WI\nAnn Valley\, B.S.\, Advanced Microbiologist and Parasitology Team Lead\, Communicable Disease Division\, Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene\, Madison\, WI\n\nDescription of Session: \nWhile traditional diagnostic methods remain a key component of stool parasite detection\, laboratories have altered their test algorithm to include rapid methods and multi-target molecular assays. The importance of the traditional diagnostic methods as well as the implementation of newer technologies will be discussed. In many cases\, implementation of newer technologies adversely affects both the detection of less common parasites and reportable disease surveillance. Resources for full identification and confirmation of all parasites are available and will be highlighted. \n  \nA certificate of participation will be granted to each participant based on 1.0 contact hours of instruction toward credit. \nThis program is co-sponsored by ASCLS-WI which is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. program. \nAs part of the new P.A.C.E. continuing education process\, please go to the ASCLS CE Organizer web site to print your P.A.C.E. certificates. You will be asked for a code number to print the certificate. We will provide you this number during the teleconference. \nPlease note that the deadline for receiving P.A.C.E. education credit for this teleconference is February 11\, 2016.\n \nMaterials:\n\n Evaluation Form\n The Changing Landscape of Stool Parasite Diagnosis and Surveillance Presentation\nThe Changing Landscape of Stool Parasite Diagnosis and Surveillance – Handouts\nWCLN Audio Conference: The Changing Landscape of Stool Parasite Diagnosis and Surveillance – 2015
