SUMMARY:WCLN Webinar - Battling Infections of the Central Nervous System
DESCRIPTION:Battling Infections of the Central Nervous System\nPresenter: \n\nBlake Buchan\, Ph.D.\, Assistant Professor\, Department of Pathology\, Medical College of Wisconsin and Assistant Director\, Clinical Microbiology\, Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratories\, Milwaukee\, WI\n\nDescription of Session: \nThis session will provide a broad review of infections of the central nervous system (CNS)\, including the risk factors\, common clinical presentations and treatment. The main focus of the presentation will be on the causative organisms that should be considered in cases of CNS infection\, and the various laboratory diagnostics approaches available to identify those organisms. \n  \nA certificate of participation will be granted to each participant based on 1.0 contact hours of instruction toward credit. \nThis program is co-sponsored by ASCLS-WI which is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. program. \nAs part of the new P.A.C.E. continuing education process\, please go to the ASCLS CE Organizer web site to print your P.A.C.E. certificates.
