DESCRIPTION:SARS-CoV-2\, Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses Update – 2022\nPresenters: \n\nAllen Bateman\, Ph.D.\, D(ABMM)\, Director of Communicable Disease Division\, Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene\nErika Hansen\, M.S.\, Virology Lead\, Communicable Disease Division\, Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene\n\nDescription of Session: \nThis webinar will provide a review of the 2021 – 2022 respiratory virus season and will highlight our surveillance strategies and challenges for 2022-2023\, based on our expectations\, for the upcoming respiratory virus season. \nAdditional topics that will be discussed include a background in influenza and influenza surveillance\, updates on the influenza vaccine strain components\, new vaccine technologies for influenza vaccines in the future (mRNA vaccines\, etc.)\, updates on influenza transmission globally\, SARS-CoV-2 updates including continued WGS for strain surveillance\, and updates on other respiratory virus activity and surveillance programs. \n  \nA certificate of participation will be granted to each participant based on 1.0 contact hours of instruction toward credit. \nThis program is co-sponsored by ASCLS-WI which is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. program. \nAs part of the new P.A.C.E. continuing education process\, please go to the ASCLS CE Organizer web site to print your P.A.C.E. certificates. You will be asked for a code number to print the certificate.
