WCLN Audio Conference – Syndromic Multiplex Panels

November 11, 2015 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Syndromic Multiplex Panels – What’s New, How Will We Use Them and What is the Impact on the Microbiology Laboratory? – 2015

Presenters:

  • Nathan Ledeboer, Ph.D., D(ABMM), Associate Professor of Pathology, Medical College of Wisconsin and Medical Director of Clinical Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics, Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratory and Froedtert Hospital

Description of Session:

This session will discuss new advances in multiplex panels for the diagnosis of infectious diseases, including the use of new panels for identification of the causative agents of meningitis. The session will also discuss when multiplex panels are appropriate for use in patient care and what populations should be tested using these panels. Finally, in an era where molecular diagnostics are increasingly being implemented in the point of care, the session will identify where POC testing should be used as opposed to syndromic panels.

A certificate of participation will be granted to each participant based on 1.0 contact hours of instruction toward credit.

This program is co-sponsored by ASCLS-WI which is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. program.

As part of the new P.A.C.E. continuing education process, please go to the ASCLS CE Organizer web site to print your P.A.C.E. certificates. You will be asked for a code number to print the certificate. We will provide you this number during the teleconference.
